I have been trying to look at the compatibility of various ACW 10mm ranges. There are a number of excellent sites on the web discussing this, but they seem all to refer to either the old Pendraken 10mm ACW range, or are not specific. Can anyone help with advice on whether the new Pendraken range can be mixed on the same stands with any other ranges, particularly Minifig, Blaze Away, and Kallistra 10mm ranges, or indeed any other readily available ranges in the UK. |

Not sure this helps but….. In a few of my 15mm armies I have figures from up to 20 different manufacturers. They vary from "small 15s" up to "big 18s" and have wildly different sculpting styles and poses. No one has ever noticed or commented…. |

Kallistra are 12mm I think so bigger. This link should do it: link Lancashire games sells Blaze Away in UK. |

I have Perrin and GHQ mixed. Want to get some Crackerline now. |

Hi Gents, my Cracker Line and Plank Road mix with the NEW Pendraken line very well. The older line is bigger, but I would not recommend trying to mix with Kallistra or Blaze Away. They should be good to mix with Minifigs and the Magister Militum/Noble/Chariot line. |

If I was starting from scratch (which I'm not) I would take a serious look at Kallistra 12mm figure range for ACW. Lots of choice for figures and at a fiver a unit are attractive pricewise. The figures being 12mm rather 10mm are therefore a touch easier to paint. Having said that you could do exactly the same with the Pendraken 10mm ACW range. I'm a great believer in single sourcing my gaming supplies although I also see the attractiveness of mixing/matching figures from other ranges. These days I like less hassle. |

Have played with Cracker Line many times. You can't go wrong with those figures |

There are a lot of great choices, but I agree with JimDUK and if I were just starting the ACW I would probably go with Kallistra (or Cracker Line). Kallistra make some great figures, has a fairly complete range, and you can save some money with their buy five packs get one free deal. Drops the price per foot figure to .23 cents each, and they come with bases (which is a bonus if you want to use their bases sizing). |

Don't forget the other factor in choosing figures; the metal used in the casting. GHQ are for me made of soft metal that mean the muskets bend like a field of wheat after a some storm. |

I'm sorry, but I have to ask…at that scale, does it really matter? They all look good and I'd have no problem mixing. |

It matters to 10mm gamers just as much as it would to someone gaming in 28mm. Most 28mm gamers would not mix in an old 25mm with their bigger figures. I does not work well. GHQ and Kallistra can not be mixed for reasons which appear quite obvious when you look at Bryan's comparison shown above. |

Thank you to everyone who responded. The information was very useful. I will, I think, mix Pendraken with Baggage train and a few odd Minifigs that I already have. Cracker Line look good but their UK retailer has gone (from 1st May) so they are less easy to source. I do like to mix stances etc when dealing with most troops (SYW I am quite content to have 24 identical figures), so being able to source from many sources is important to me. It is also useful if one supplier fails for some reason. |

For me, I have no problem mixing different ranges within a single army. I like the variety. Here's the key, however. I don't mix different ranges within the same UNIT. As long as you keep each unit built up from a single manufacturer, then you'll do fine on the table. As an example, in my Macedonian and Classical Indian armies, I have units of 25mm alongside units of 28mm. No one, and I mean no one, has ever commented on the differences in scale. People come in different sizes. Thus, having units from differing manufacturers has never been a problem for me. |

I use Old Glory and Pendraken new, they work well enough for me. |
