Hi guys Just finished up part 2 of this WSS commission (just noticed I didn't do the Hessians blue polka dotted stockings, yes you heard correctly, tough bunch, not as tough as the pink polka dot gents, but tough none the less) dan.dunbar@hotmail.com Here we have Danish – Livgarde Til Fods Regiment – yellow coat, red cuffs Danish – Dronningens Regiment – red coat, yellow cuffs, short fusilier cap with yellow front Hessian – Prince Leopold Regiment – indigo blue coat, blue cuffs, white stockings with blue spots. Dutch – Number 19 Salm, Dohna-Ferassieres Regiment – grey coat, red cuffs Württemberg – Leibgarde – yellow coat, red cuffs, breast plate and helmet Danish – Livregiment Dragoons – red coat, white cuffs More pics here link

Nice work! I am working on an Imagination with them – one of the units will have yellow jackets, which I find very hard to paint – how did you get that great look? Also – any idea when Warlord Games will be selling the WSS cavalry? Because I will need some soon |

Thanks gents No idea on the cavalry, but as for the yellow, 2 things, firstly if you want to be more realistic I would personally lean more towards an ochre yellow, I think bright yellow is more artistic than realistic. However if you want the bright yellow, start with a base coat of a mixture of dark brown/ochre yellow/and whatever bright yellow you are using, so a dark muddy yellow, then paint over the top with the yellow you want, leaving the recesses/creases dark yellow, hope that helps. |
