Some 1,300 pounds of bronze Roman coins dating to the 3rd and 4th centuries have been unearthed by construction workers digging ditches in Spain…

Yeah, I'm a little light on the scratch right now, so I could use a couple of hundred pounds.

Would make excellent victory medals for a Late Roman game of TtS. A very big game… :-)

At 1300 pounds, my guess is that every city in the world with a population of 250,000 or more could get a coin for the city's museum. That's a lot of cities, but I bet that's a lot of coins.

Careful, probably a kobold lair. There are sure to be all sorts of nasty traps.

Also, just type 'roman coin' into eBay and some really nice ones will come up – B.C. Denarii are not uncommon.

Yes,bronzes of that era are pretty plentiful. You're liable to find heavily worn ones at any coin show for a dollar, identifiable for three.
You can also buy uncleaned lots for under $1 USD per coin.
They would make good markers or prizes for an ancients game.

The ones in this hoard are supposed to be near mint,so would go for more.

I bought a few in London in a shop very close to the British museum. Forgot the name though. Not extremely expensive. Mostly bronze, one silver.
