When you draw a leader card you activate a leader from that colours side.

Is it ANY leader or does it have to be effectively the one numbered the same as the card you drew out???

#1 leader card draw activates #1 leader only.

CptKremmen29 Apr 2016 7:14 a.m. PST

OK thanks, just means we need to put a little number by each leader so we know which is which, can't see it say that anywhere in the rules.

Got one last one for you. How many groups can a leader control in a formation?

Specifically a level 1 and level 2 leader.

Because of their influence range assuming regulars in units of 8 a level 1 could activate 3 groups in a formation and a level 2 5 groups. Is that correct it seems a little more than i expected?

I know but i can't login or register on that stupid forum :(

CptKremmen29 Apr 2016 8:33 a.m. PST

I have sent a board administrator a query, i can't login so set up a new account which says it is ready to go but as soon as you login it says no such account.

JimDuncanUK29 Apr 2016 9:04 a.m. PST

Their FAQ says this:

"I registered but cannot login!

First, check your username and password. If they are correct, then one of two things may have happened. If COPPA support is enabled and you specified being under 13 years old during registration, you will have to follow the instructions you received. Some boards will also require new registrations to be activated, either by yourself or by an administrator before you can logon; this information was present during registration. If you were sent an e-mail, follow the instructions. If you did not receive an e-mail, you may have provided an incorrect e-mail address or the e-mail may have been picked up by a spam filer. If you are sure the e-mail address you provided is correct, try contacting an administrator."

I read it as if the leader is attached to the formation he can command however many are in the formation as long as he is the lowest ranked leader.

So a level one leader can command a formation of any size as long as he is attached to it or it is within his command radius (the formation has no attached leader).

If there is a higher level leader attached then he can't issue commands to it.

Nope, don't think thatt there is a limit on the size of formation a leader may command. You'll find a more definitive answer on the forum though.

They also have a Yahoo group that is very active. I am currently getting 3-4 updates a day each with around 10 messages each.

Richard is on there and answers questions.

BobGrognard29 Apr 2016 11:14 a.m. PST

There is no limit to the size. The problem is that lower status leaders can't do very much.

You may want to check out the Lard Island News Blog as well.
It has a ton of info on their games.

A level 1 leader or a level 4 leader can activate a large formation to move fire etc.

The higher level leaders can rally off shock points, does not seem they can do much else or use?

Andy
PS Is there a points cost for leaders?

tberry740329 Apr 2016 2:56 p.m. PST

See, I'm not the only one! grin

As I found out check the Generic Support Table, Level 1 Leaders cost 3 points, Level 2 Leaders cost 6 points.

Camcleod29 Apr 2016 6:10 p.m. PST

And to raise a leader's level up is 3 points per level.

Not sure if there is an upper limit to levels. The chart on p.22 goes up to level IV.
I suppose if you wanted to pay the points ??

Higher level leaders could also give activations to other units/formations within their command range and not just who they are attached to.

Try the new SP TMP Board. I always make the argument there is no need for a new board if there is already rules support on a forum. Apparently I am not the only one. Here is the link to the TMP SP board. According to everyone who voted for it, you don't need to the official rules forum. Good luck.
