Guys, Not a complaint, just asking a question with respect to planning some Order and painting schedules for a potential foray into 6mm Ancients. I placed an Order with Baccus for an initial pack of Greek Hoplites back on April 6th and received notice today, April 29th, that the Order has been filled and the journey round the world to me has now begun. So 23 days from Order to dispatch, should I plan on that as normal for Baccus 6mm Orders? I figure there might've been a delay for the Salute show in there too but I just want to figure out a schedule for this project? Maybe do larger Orders get processed quicker by Baccus? In this hobby we are always dealing with small business, sometimes single person enterprises and I'm not complaining. Just trying to put a painting schedule together to get this potential Project to the first battle stage? Whats been anyone's experience with Baccus? Nick |

They're usually pretty quick – I'd definitely view that as an outlier rather than typical. Pete started April with an infection in his foot, and between that and Salute it's probably been a rough ride this month, but Baccus are usually a few days rather than weeks. |

Peter is usually very quick but he has been very ill and struggling to keep on top/catch up so remember he kept you informed and its only toy soldiers and there on there way – get the paint ready |

So, has Scale Creep stopped being the US distributor for Baccus? |

Correct. Scale Creep no longer stocks Baccus. |

Not entirely – Scale Creep still has a lot of Baccus stock, and is hoping to get back to carrying more in a while, but isn't restocking at the moment. |

It took me a little over 3 weeks from order to doorstep when I ordered from Baccus, which is really good considering the miniatures had to cross the Atlantic, go through US customs, and then travel across the country to California. |

Ok, thanks guys, not good to hear he's not been well. Wishing you a speedy recovery Mr Baccus. |

First off, apologies to nsolomon and indeed any of our customers currently experiencing delays with orders. It's not a situation we like and one that we are working hard to rectify. All orders are cast to customer requirements in order of receipt. Under normal circumstances this means a gap of no more than a few days from an order arriving to it being in the post. However, an uncomfortable combination of very high demand, a run of public and staff holidays, Salute and staff illness has really put us back. Both myself and the Igor are casting and packing at a frantic rate to eat into the backorders and we are making good inroads, but it will inevitably take sometime before we catch-up. All I can do is ask for patience from those awaiting orders. Believe me, it's not in our interest to have these hanging around and we will get them out asap. As an aside, can I heartily recommend that people avoid acquiring an infected big toe. It can REALLY buggar up things for you… |

Nasty Peter – never had the big toe infected but have had one of the others do that. Painful and disabling but, luckily for me, it cleared up quite quickly. Hope you get sorted soon. |

You never know how much a big toe matters till something happens to one of them. I sympathise Peter had a big toe crushed in a climbing accident years back extremely disabling as well as …………… painful, everything you do seems to involve the big toe. Not something you want when spending a day at the casting machine………. L |
