Well they look stunning, apart from the horses head look slightly wrong…I'm not certain what's wrong, just something is.

Some of them do look a bit long and cylindrical, but I think it's mostly something to do with their position in relation to the neck.
That said, they are 1/72, and otherwise, amazing.

Horses' heads I can live with. In the One True Scale the problem is more often the "My Little Pony" look with stubby little legs and huge heads (and that is only on the riders).

No, this looks great. Figures are in proportion and I admit, if I were starting again, I might just go back to the Airfix scale….but so much better 40 years on!

An earlier post tells me that these Bavarians were not intended for behind the ridge, in the only real battle of the Nap Wars. They are much earlier and probably would never have seen an RNBD trooper.

Do wargamers buy such figures? Are they not too "Heroic"? No one will buy 20 of each, surely. Do collectors buy such figures in this scale singly? If not, why do people, like me, not too do so?

Madness. We are missing out……….or the makers are…..28 mm rules…….(OK even 15/18mm) ……imagine how these figs would do if only……

Glad you like them boys. (in general)

The Bavarians are just two more poses of the Revolutionary range, some more of them you can find here

And today I ordered some more regular poses.

Hey, Bavarians never hide behind a ridge as usually the army of another nation did in this time:-):-)

A pity that there are no wargame rules for 20mm figures, but the orders of the collectors and diorama builders alone help covering the costs.

And in the end all the collectors in the group make the figures because they want them. We just sell them to cover the costs.

But we already have some new 28mm collectors in our group too, so there are figures for the "true range" too:-)

So if you want to join our group and let yourselve figures produced simply send me a mail.

cheers

I'll say it again too.

Marvellous the integrity you guys show in sticking to this scale…because you know it is right…for you….

But internationally………in 28mm……..how well would figures of this standard do? You would be rich overnight, but who wants that?

For earning money I have a good paid job. Producing figures is just a hobby. And if we can cover a part of our costs through selling the figures we can simply buy more masters:-)

Most of the guys simply get the figures they wanted. It started with my own Sepoys for Wellington in India. Some friends liked the idea and so the group grows and grows.

You all could join us in producing 28mm figures if you like:-) We already have 28mm in the line. I have masters of SYW Prussians at home and 1848 Risorgimento Austrians and Piemontese are comming up. So you see everything is possible.

Bavarian, I don't understand your remark; joining what?

The Bavarian06 May 2016 3:02 a.m. PST

Hi Duc,

the System of Hagen is that you as a collector can tell us which figures you would like to have.

You pay for the master figure and the mould. For 28mm figures this is 50 Euro for a foot-figure and 100 Euros for a horseman. Than there is the cost of the mould which is around 5 Euros per figure.

So with around 55 Euros you get your figure casted. You get as much figures as you want for the Price of casting.

Afterwards we put the figure in the shop, selling them for an aggreed Price. We take 25% of the official price for our work, you get 75% of the Profit. From this you have to pay the price for casting which leaves you around 35% of the price in the shop (usual). So with around 60-70 figures sold through the shop you have covered all your costs.

That is the System from Hagen and the reason why we grew so fast:-) No Kickstarter needed!

And as Massimo is able to sculpt in all scales, simply send me a mail at wild-Heindl@t-online and we can arrange things.

But I have to warn you, I have a Pipeline of around 500 figures at the Moment, so it takes around a year for you to get the figures after starting the Project.

The Bavarian

I like the idea that you might be able to get miniatures of your favourite units and nation, but having to wait a year is sadly a real put off.

The Bavarian10 May 2016 10:46 a.m. PST

Hi Gazzola,

well, when it is your first order I usually try to push your order up the list. But we have some guys in the group who are such freaks that they ordered over 100 figures. And these will be come into the pipeline and made in chronological order.

cheers
Uwe
