Just cleaned up the painting table. It is a small, cheap secretary style desk in our den. It had been getting a bit shaggy and since it is "in public" it was due for a fresh layer of contact paper and a general scrub. Here are the results. One benefit of a small painting set up is it does not take long to clean!

Nice, but far too clean!

That's just wrong……..

I have a simple question, are you left handed or right handed?

I ask because your desk appears to be in a dull area and your lamp is on the left hand side.

It may be that your photograph is not showing the lighting conditions as they truly are.

I like the display cabinet but really where do you keep your works in progress?

Why is there a phone on the desk? You can't let the real world interrupt your work, man!

The photo is dim as it was taken at night with some of the surrounding lights off. The den has floor to ceiling windows on two sides so daylight is in ample supply. At night I turn on more lights and it works fine.

Under the desk is a cloth tub full of bulk items – white glue, sand, flock. On top of it sits a jewler's tray that measures 12 x 18" and that is where my work in progress lives. I am in a major clean up mode finishing off bits and bobs for a slew of projects. Mostly of the "I need one of these for a game, and more trucks for my Soviet artillery" variety.

Here is a shot of the WIP:

A major project post Little Wars is to sort my accumulated unpainted lead. 90% is not "mine" but was acquired in lot deals – so I want the 50 painted but the 12 primed are part of the lot on Ebay. Once sorted I'll be selling it all off dirt, dirt cheap in assorted lots. I'll have a lot of 15mm WW2 at Little Wars for sale in my booth….

Too clean, not enough projects…

Just finished the flocking on those 20 trucks so they are off to the desk. I hope to finish up that M274 Mule this afternoon, then do some work on that gun truck….

I don't see any paint splatters on the floor or walls. The table is spotless. You are sick, sick, sick.

Very nice setup though.

I just replaced the contact paper on teh desktop that's why no paint there. As for walls and floors, well, I'm not 8 years old any more evil grin

A tidy desk is a sign of a sick mind

I like the display cabinet above – I have found that it is inspirational to see some of your completed stuff. If doing lots of units for the same army it's also helpful to check back what you did last time

Enjoy it for now, it won't last long… ;-)

I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around "tidy" and "painting table" being used in the same sentence.

I have been overcome by a case of the vapors and must now rest a while.
