Anthony and I tried out the Colonial version of the portable wargames rules this afternoon and had a fun game. More details on the blog: link Mike |

Always great to see photos of painted Armies in Plastic 54mm figures on the table. Would like to see a photo of your Afghan gun crew in action. Is your British mounted commander a metal figure or a plastic conversion? I like the rocky outcroppings -- simple, but effective. |

The British commander is a Little Legion figure in metal. I'll see if I've got a photo of the afghan crew – they are conversions of AIP figures with bits from my own Little Wars Revisited range… Mike |

Mike's scenery is practical as well as visually effective-the rocks all have flat surfaces enabling figures to occupy the outcrop without falling over. Mike painted my Brits for me some time ago and considerably improved my AIP Indian Lancers by replacing the bendy plastic lances with steel ones. The Little Legion general is a mounted version of the one shown on their website. The mat we used was my recently acquired 6' x 4' plains mat with 15cm squares from Deep Cut Studio. The river was from the Emperor Toad's Emporium (a trader I only met for the first time at Skirmish earlier this year where I almost cleaned him out of terrain!). Anthony |
