About a year ago I found some nice metal triplanes at Hobby Lobby, selling for $10 USD each. I visited the store yesterday and found it has added a biplane to its collection, selling for the same price. If you print out the online coupon from Hobby Lobby's website, you can get it for $6. USD

The plane is a little big next to 28mm figures, but not so much that it sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm not sure what type of biplane it is modeled after -- I doubt any, just going for a generic biplane look. It is a metal decoration, not a model, but looks good enough that it works as gaming scenery.

You can find these in the "man cave" section of your local Hobby Lobby. I think the plane works very well for a pulp-style game.

Here is a comparison to the triplane I mentioned, which is still sold by the store.

Very nice, Double W, . . . too bad that I am nowhere near a Hobby Lobby . . . (in fact I am not even in the US) . . . but it looks like a good purchase for lots of people who are near one of its stores.

At first glance it reminded me of some of those "racing planes" from the '20s and '30s.

I have also looked at the ships & boats they have. Some of those could work too.

Edit: Sorry, they would be useful for smaller scales than your planes.

I have seen both of those. I also eyeball their ships/boats, thinking that one day I will need them.

Had them in my e-shopping cart and got distracted, never checked out, and missed the sale. I am incompetent.
