A tutorial has just been published on the blog of Eric that teaches you how to build a longhouse in 28 mm with a cardboard tube and it's quite disarming of simplicity and it makes very good.

You could certainly make Hissen or Quonset huts in a similar manner. Place them around your WWII RAF base for your little lead pilots to kip out in.
