The second part of my take on the Khalsa is now on my blog dealing with the Sikh regular cavalry and these fellows.
There is also a suggested Sikh list for Field Of Battle. link: withob.blogspot.co.uk |

Interesting points as always. As you indicated, British cavalry found the Sikh swords superior to their own,and very dangerous,if they got into a melee. I've wondered how to handle them morale-wise, since they seem to have done a lot of running away. Maybe they were subject to a more mob mentality, when it came to fight-or-flight? |

Interested why you chose to paint some of the Sikhs with very dark faces? |

Some Sikhs do have darker skin there is quite a variety of shades and they were out door boys under a burning sun. As a lovely, charming but somewhat snobby high caste Punjabi girl once told me "Most of them(the Sikhs) were peasants". Its not quite true but you get the idea. That said looking at some of them again they may be a little too dark. Interesting point Hafen but I'd say no. Most of the running away in the first war was on the instruction of the treacherous generals. At Mudki Lal Singh seems to have sent away most of the Gorchurra before scarpering himself. Those left put up a ferocious fight despite being heavily outnumbered. |

Very nicely done. I am fascinated by the Sikh Wars and Indian Mutiny. Nice work. |
