"There are various video games out there that draw their influence from various tabletop properties. But most of them don't actually play like a tabletop game. So what if you're out, away from your minis, but you want to play a minis game? Most of the time you'd be just out of luck. But with Warbands: Bushido, you could play a miniatures game right on your tablet or smartphone. They're up on Kickstarter now. The game is a historical wargame based on the Warring States period in Chinese history (a very fascinating time, if you ever get a chance to look it up. I had an Eastern Civ. class that had a small section on it. Interesting stuff). The game has everything you'd expect from a miniatures game, including dice, figures, a game board, and stat cards for your figures. The game will even track your model's progress and statistics, letting them level up as you move through a campaign. As for personalizing your models, there's even that, as you can "paint" your figures, customizing their colors to whatever you want…"

The kickstarter page itself reads in part: "We will start our series from the story of civil war in 16th century Japan, known as 'Warring States period."" So it looks like the reference to China was a simple brain fart by the author of the review quoted by Armand. Dennis |

Looks like they digitized Ronin. Worth $50 USD to play skirmish games without having to deal with the all the paperwork. |
