I have put up another article on my blog. This time about how I started my african Imagi-Nation. It features Guy Bowers the writer of Black Ops vs Richard Clarke the writer of Chain of Command in a small cameo role.

You can find it here : zangali.blogspot.nl/2016/04/the-start-of-imagi-nation.html

I can see the appeal of African imagi-nations; small forces, sort-of historical rationales, potential for some great characters.

But I wonder – has anyone done modern imagi-nations set on other continents?

There's quite a number of dictators in Africa, but they aren't so hard to find elsewhere on earth!

Which sparks another thought – I seem to only see dictators in Imagi-nations… Isn't anyone fighting for representative government for 28mm people????

Martin, mine is set on the old Blitzkrieg board from Avalon Hill. 7 Countries in all (2 major and 5 minor) so good chances for "entangling alliances"

Martin.

My modern (interwar and early WWII) set up has 12 imagi- nations all modeled on real counrties. There's Fahrvergnuggen (guess who) and the Workers Winter Wonderland of Freeland (WWWF) Fanabla, The Newnited Sates, The Empire of Terramasu and so forth. All of these are burlesques of the real country. (For Fahrvergnuggen think the Three Stooges in "I'll never Heil Again).

The only one of the twelve that would be hard to identify is Bandrika. That's the country in Hitchcock's "The Lady Vanishes." It's sort of a stitched together Austro-Hungarian Empire with a lot of zany elements.

I like the old Blitzkeirg board idea. All I have to do is find it.

My blog will have continues updates with news. I will only post the update here if I think it is really hobby related like new models, terrain pieces, battle reports and the like.
Today I have put an update on again but it just a news flash, It creates a nice background for the country and how it develops. I'm building up slowly to the first games but if you want some of the Zangali fever then make sure you check it out here: link

The peaceful and friendly people of the Wasabi Protectorate send warm greetings to the newest member of the Imagi-Nations neighborhood. Unlike those slovenly disease-ridden moral degenerates of Bongolesia, may their livers shrivel and their toe-jam fester.
