Hey guys, I am looking for 15mm unarmored phalangites of the Hellenistic period. I know Xyston makes some, but they seem closer to 20mm than 15.

These would be poor citizens or levies, no body armor, a helmet or two thrown in there, same with greaves, just no curiass or torso armor.
I have looked everywhere and cannot find. I am willing to buy separate shields and have plenty of pikes, so they dont need to be included if that helps.
Thanks alot!

Check Essex, Old Glory, Donnington, and QRF.

GuKhan for the win! :-)

I don't see any unarmored pikemen at any of the sites I mentioned.

Brilliant GurKan, thank you a ton!! Exactly what I need.
I am actually going to use these, and some Essex misc troops to represent Helot troops, who would have had the bare minimum you would think.
Essex has some good javelin-men without shields, don't know if the Spartan masters would have wanted the Helot skirmishers to have shields.

Glad to help. But I do wonder how poorly equipped helot pikemen would be: aren't they, strictly, _ex_-helots, who had the money to pay for emancipation under Cleomenes III's scheme?

I have some of the He30 ones mentioned and they fit the bill perfectly. I have used them for various armies, including native Egyptians at Raphia.

Gurkhan, you're exactly right. But my thinking is, if they had to buy their freedom(how would Helots even be able to acquire money in the first place?), they probably would not have had money for personal equipment.

Or do you believe they were armed and armored by the state. Even then Sparta was always pretty poor, especially after she'd lost so much in terms of manpower and territory.

Extra Crispy, just put the order in, and for a few more items as well. Just awaiting the invoice to come through. Thanks again everyone!!
