Having finished my short term goal for my GNW swedes. I'm now looking at doing other stuff for a while. So far the short list is. 30YW! I have allready done a unit of cuirassiers. I could either buy some 1st corps swdes. they are very cheap by modern pricing. But I'm still not convinced I can paint them as well as I want. Italian Wars: I still only have 18 landknecht done. And it's suppose to be aleast 72 strong. I also want to add some mounted akrebusere ect. The problem here is that the landsknecht are quite expencive and the arkebuseres more so. Gendarmes are even more expencive I think. I do plan on continuing my SYW project, I'm expecting a very generous wedding gift from a kind TMPer. And I do plan on ordering some lovely miniatures from cranterra with order ready to be payed for. But I don't have the full amount yet to order this rather large order. (Wedding rings where expencive!) I do have other projects I want to work with. But again out of my price range now! |

In keeping with the Swedish theme, why not embrace them also in napoleonic times? (actually this was mostly Finns, but they were part of the Sweden at that time…) link |

Start an Age of Sigmar army. The Start Collecting boxes are a great deal. I'm working on my Seraphon now and they are a lot of fun to paint. |

Gunfreak these might make the cut for price. link Take special note of the Imperial, Swedish Infantry and Starter Battalia. I have these figures and I think they are very good. |

Italian Wars. Old Glory Landsknechts are inexpensive, and supposedly one of their better ranges. Perry minis for the period are a bargain as well. The plastics don't run much more than 15mm figs in metal. |

I'll also recommend the Old Glory Italian Wars. 10 horse or 30 foot for $30. USD And they are nice figures too. |

Get their OG Army card and save 40%. That'll even help compensate for expensive, international shipping. The break even point is only $125 USD, and the card's good for a year, so definitely worth considering. They carry a wide range of figs for the Italian Wars, e.g. gendarmes on horse, mtd. crossbowmen and arqubusiers, pikemen, halberdiers, swordsmen, infantry, etc., etc.. |

Thanks people. I have thought about old glory. But I'm still never sure if i want to do old glory. I know some of their ranges are good. But i generally need very good figures to paint well. Bashytubits. I don't like the warlord plastic pike and shot figures. I can't paint them properly. I have no need for the marching musketeer nor the leveled pikemen. And i can't base them the way i want because they take to much room. |
