Scientists, after examining some of the moon rocks they brought back, now believe that the Earth and Moon were hit by radiation from a supernova, from an exploding star, about 300 light years away. Apparently, this occurred a few million years ago, and might have helped give rise to the human race. Interesting stuff: link |
