Sculpted by Bob Murch, of Pulp Figures fame, these 28mm World War Two miniatures are great for use with Skirmish Level tabletop gaming. The box set contains 17 figures.

Is the Boys AT gunner firing from the hip? Was that possible?

Vigilant20 Apr 2016 6:49 a.m. PST

Not without breaking your arm I would think.

Very heroic looking! I like 'em!

The Boys AT gunner is a stud. He's not shooting. He's charging a tank and is going to stab it with the weapon. wink

No 2" Mortar?

No Vickers either. They might become available down the road but first I need to concentrate on the Afrika Korps set.

I thought the Boys was used by Western Desert Force weren't they all gone by the time 8th Army was formed?

Bob Murch20 Apr 2016 3:03 p.m. PST

The 8th Army was formed in Sept of 1941. The Boys remained in service until replaced by the Piat in 1943. 65000 were manufactured during the war.

It was noted for its relative uselessness but it became effective against shallow dug in positions in the rocky western desert.

That is my understanding at least.

This is a great set from the master sculptor. Too bad they are in shorts as I can't use them for my VBCW games. I suppose they're good for north Africa and other desert settings. Perhaps also useful for India, in the 1930s. Replace the Bren with a Lewis.

I'm looking at this from my iPad, and I can't find any price on the website other than the $10 USD for shipping. What are they going for?

Cruciblecrusher21 Apr 2016 6:28 p.m. PST

$50 USD the Paypal Button to order is after the picture on the crucible crush website.
