Steve Miller out of Dallas Texas: Rome vs. Gauls – Might of Arms 25/28mm. We played on April 16. We got reacquainted with Might of Arms again after a long hiatus.
This game was great as usual. MoA provides the best ancients game period. Roman's battling the Gauls.
If interesting in Historical Gaming here in Texas contact the group – LSHM by messaging me here.
You shoulda' been here rolling dice with us. We got out our vintage Hinchcliffe and Gripping Beast Gauls and Romans. Take a good look at the Romans…they're from the early 80s!
Great game, great friends! Thanks Grumbler, Clay, and Michael Pettyjohn for the good game. Steve Miller out of Dallas Texas runs games out of his magnificent game room "the Rat Palace" pretty much every week, so if you live in the DFW area contact us. And watch for this and many other fantastic games run by Steve at MillenniumCon19 in November 11-13. |

Great looking game! I like the older figs. Hinchcliffe is still a range I like. Recently picked up a bunch of ECW figs of theirs. How did your revisit to MOA go? Any thoughts? Thanks, John |

Thanks for the compliment John! Playing MoA is like putting on a very comfortable pair of soft shoes or reconnecting with best friends after a long time away. The game was smooth, easily learned by two newbies and began to run itself after 2 complete game turns. The Gallic army is tougher than I remember. I played them as Fierce "B" class to get them up to points level. They really simulated the fierce charge of the Celts. The Celts must break the Romans on the first turn of melee or get ground down by Elite legionaries. It's a great version of a crapshoot. I had never played my Light Chariots and have had the army since the late 80s. They are mini-tanks. I usually play Late Assyrians and the sight of my 15 Assyrian 4-horse chariots (all Hinchcliffe…the best!) is impressive to say the least. All in all, we played a 1250 point/4 player game on an 8x6 in less than 2.25 hours, teaching new players. Try that with FoG or even Hail Caesar (the ancients game of the week around here). I just won't play anything else but MoA. I won't waste time learning another set of rules. For those that have never played them…you should be playing these rules. Highly recommended. Thanks Charlie for posting our game. If you live in the SA, Austin, DFW area and want to play some great historical and hysterical games; give the LSHM a message. We'll get you to the game table if you're ready, willing and able! Steve Miller DFW Irregulars-Southern Front |

Wow, that's incredible on time playing. I need to pull out one of my copies. Been a while since they have been played around here. Love those Assyrians too! I had a painted Byzantine army. Traded it to another guy who had a painted Gun Hinchcliffe army. Well, at least I still have the two painted 15mm Roman and Carthaginian armies that I used a few weeks ago! Thanks, John |
