I recently had commissioned a French and British forces for the Peninsular campaign. The painters did a great job, for many photos see link

I sold off my 28mm Napoleonic army that took me almost 10 years to paint myself and have no regrets.

I have to write that I actually think AB Napoelonics are the nicest sculpted wargames figures available for the period, regardless of scale. So I think you've done a good thing.

Of course it's great that lots of folks prefer 28mm and other sizes but the space advantages of 18mm over 28mm really tells in this period.

A collection to be proud of.

Nice photos! And I concur on your choice.

I painted my AB French and Russians 20 years ago. I'm not even a Napoleonic gamer – I just liked the figures at the time, and wanted a break from ACW and ancients.

I pulled them out a few nights back, for the first time in 15 years.

The verdict? Non-upgradeable. No manufacturer is ever going to match them.

John – I am doing the exact opposite, selling off my 15mm collection and building 28mm!!! I just parted with a AB Prussian 1806 Army – I do love the AB figures.

After painting 10,000+ 15mm figures over the past 30 years I am now enjoying Napoleonics again by switching to 28mm scale.

I have 96 of your old figures, rebased and ready for a game.

Fantastic army – thanks for showing it off

I was concerned about your health and sanity when I saw you selling off the 28s, but now I see the light
