We'll be traveling to south Wales next month to meet some aging family members and we will pick up/drop off a rental car in Cardiff. I realize the gaming scene is different on the other side of the pond, but are there any game/miniatures stores worth visiting in Cardiff? |

Nice! It looks like Firestormgames is right down the street from the rental car office, and my wife had expressed a desire to see the castle, so we can see both if we want… thank you! |

Yes, Firestorm Games is great and yes, Hertz (I think) is on the same street. It's still not the easiest place to find though, so make sure you have the location map to hand! You can easily walk from there to the castle in ten minutes. There was also Ian Allan Books, with an excellent military and wargaming section, but tragically closed down last year! :( |

Rules of Play are in the arcade opposite the Castle so are en route and have several cafes nearby. They are more boardgaming with RPGs, Star Wars etc while Firestorm carries figures with some board games I'd visit both to be honest. |

If you are going to the castle, may I recommend a stop at the Goat Major Pub across the street from it for lunch? Excellent pies last time I was there (the Wye valley, especially) in 2014, and tasty Brains ale. |

I'll try to do that as well. Thanks for the tip. |

Managed to get into Rules of Play, but Firestorm wasn't open early enough before our train, so I managed to visit one out of two for Wales. Thanks for the suggestions! |
