Around 800 to 900 miniatures in total and we played 2 games during the day in between breaks to talk to onlookers

For those who could not make Salute we had a special on the War & Conquest rules, finishing this Tuesday (19th)

All army lists are free online and the first of a huge army list update and reorganisation will finally start uploading mid week

Nice looking game and figures. Interesting to look at your photo of the actual hill after viewing the game table.

BRay, yes, most of them would have been home made

Nice paint jobs. But I think that you need a "Fighting Man" banner to put beside the "Dragon of Wessex"….

Great War Ace – correct I would have liked one but my attempt to find an image online struck out although I must admit I was rushing around at the time as Harold and his brothers and standards (Gripping Beast models)were my painting effort for the event – I still have to finish them off with some details and give Harold a second standard bearer

Any suggestions?

thanks

Rob

Just pick an axman from the Bayeux Tapestry and go with that.

Great looking game! We visited Hastings last year and I was impressed by how small the battlefield it. Walked the full circuit.

Yes, it is a small battlefield. Most wargames of historical battles don't take into account the actual frontages of the armies on the known terrain….
