I've always thought BA was so "generic" you could just proxy any figures and get a good game. Looks like you had fun.

Would love to see how you stated out all the units. Did you use any force users?

Wargamer Blue18 Apr 2016 6:37 a.m. PST

Brilliant

Never thought of that…how fun.

Did you tweak weapon ranges, and a few other things?

Let's see… now where are my Star Wars figures!

Lots of pictures on that blog but not much writing – any guidance to what you did to make BA work in the SW universe please>

Very cool! Do you have any rules changes or sheets you'd wish you share? I have a ton of the old WOTC figures and would love to try this.

I'm curious on how I could treat an AT AT.

Well that gives me some ideas. Nice! thumbs up

Thanks all!

It does work well like that. We had immense fun, thanks grin

Can't find the papers at the moment, but just used basic stats from the main rulebook. No Force users this time around, didn't want to over-complicate matters! lol

Did you tweak weapon ranges, and a few other things?

Not really. Blaster rifles were normal BA rifles, Light Repeating Blasters were LMGs, Heavy Repeating Blasters were MMGs. Only real difference was Blaster Pistols had a 12" range instead of 6".

Great idea, thanks ofr sharing. Looks like it worked well to.

Thanks, it certainly did grin

I was too tired when writing it! lol! It didn't need much in all fairness. I added "Faction Characteristics", for example when the Stormtroopers lost their first squad, they could bring another, inexperienced, green squad on as a reinforcement the following turn.

That looks great! Very inspiring.

Thanks!

As above, no real major changes. The AT-STs and Tie Crawlers were classed as light tanks, but couldn't make a run move. Armaments were twin MMGs.

AT-ATs may be a little big… frown

Well that gives me some ideas. Nice! thumbs up

Pleasure! thumbs up

This is going to derail my grand plan to scoop up these mini at cut rate prices since had a use for them any longer!

Brummie Lad18 Apr 2016 1:36 p.m. PST

I've managed a few good deals over the years, but they're getting harder to find here in the UK!

I'm not so much a Sci-Fi fan but loved it (Stars Wars is of course not just some Sci-Fi)very original, nice figures (must have cot a fortune getting so many of them).
Only let down : those awfull slotta bases…..

Brummie Lad Since 2009 I've been running a Star Wars game at local conventions called Battle of Grassy Plain for those who might not know it's the big battle in Episode I The Phantom Menace where the Gungans fight the Droid Army of the Trade Federation.

My rules are a mix of things but it's based on the Sword and the Flame.

Now the Battledroids would work like the Stormtroopers using the BA rules but how would you handle the Gungans?

Their weapons are different than those of the Droids this would include the Gungan Catapults.

One other thing how would you handle the Droid Hovertank,Destroyer Droids and Battledroids on Staps.

So, "Blaster Action" then?

Mithmee18 Apr 2016 7:16 p.m. PST

So rules for Stormtroopers:

If you roll a hit when shooting – reroll

If you roll another hit with this reroll – reroll again

If you roll another hit it would seem that they actually hit something.

Not a surprise to see such a conversion. Wargamers as a group are highly intelligent and innovative. looks like fun.

I've been collecting them for years! Mostly got them on decent deals, but yeah, thinking about it, they probably did! grin I agree with the bases. It's just getting around / being bothered to basing them up.

I've admired your figures/games for a long time! Very impressive.

I've not given much thought to the prequels to be honest. Maybe use the catapults as light howitzers?
Hovertanks, probably some form of medium tank that isn't affected by terrain.
Destroyer Droids, I'd have to think about.
Staps, maybe treat as jeeps?

So, "Blaster Action" then?

That could work grin

Sounds about right! I allowed Stormtroopers to hit as normal on regular sized squads, but when it came to shooting small teams, they were at -1. It worked quite well.

It certainly was. I wouldn't describe myself as intelligent and innovative though! evil grin

I just recently played a Bolt Action Star Wars game at Magcon here in TX. It was a good game. Storm Troopers vs Mercs vs Rebels.

This is fantastic, i think KONFLICT '47, gives you a handful of rules to make things like at-st and storm trooper armor fit more easily.
