Does anyone have information on the class of Japanese ships represented by The Viking Forge model of a Type 2DRS freighter? Is there a good reference available on Japanese merchant shipping during World War II?

From "Warships of the IJN 1869-1945" (Jentschura & Jung) p.260:

Standard merchant ship Type 2D
2300 GRT, speed 11kts

12 built (1944-1945), 2 converted into minelayers.
