Had a look at this at Salute yesterday to see how they compared to the 15mm figures I've already got. They seemed quite tall, nearer 18 to 20mm, though that might be because they are on the slim side. Can't see them mixing well with other ranges such as GZG. So pretty much only for the Halo fans rather than as extra forces for general use.

Thanks tango

I may go for select figs….but gonna get those covenant vehicles for certain

Shame they appear closer to 18mm than 15mm – the discontinued McFarlane micro-ops range, while apparently also 1:100, had big 'figures' as well. Though the covenant Elites are supposed to be taller than a typical human. I'm less fussed about the figure size, since I've already got quite a lot Ion Age stuff in my collection, which is on the big side of 15mm (granted, styalistically nothing like Halo), and more about the basing system for the game. I'll probably base singularly for FUBAR and TW and use movement trays for the Ground Commander rules if I even play them.

I'm thinking I'll have to look at doing the same, as there are other rules that appear to be getting interest which use group-based.

REALLY small movement trays, though. *sigh*

I just want a Pelican…maybe 2……maybe 3.

That will likely be the extent of my interest.

Re: the scale
I would be surprised if they weren't closer to 18mm than 15mm – the scale is 1/100 after all, and average male height is definitely closer to 1800 mm than 1500 mm.

I reinstalled Halo Wars due to this….I will probably take a look at this when its available since I've spent years replaying the Halo story missions.

Actually, most new Sci-Fi minis of "15mm" scale are really 18mms tall, due to scale creep, which I'm fine with by the way for these, since the newest sculpts from various manufacturers are quite nice.

Therefore, they'll blend perfectly with the latest releases from GZG and others, whose minis are really 18mm, if truth in advertising laws were being enforced.

It's the UNSC tank and the Elites that I'm very curious about. Grunts less so.

Depending on whether my local gaming group pick it up will decide whether I go the whole hog or just cherry pick vehicles and spartans – might go a bit larger on the Convenant because I'm thin on alien forces.

I'm keen to have a look at this once it is out…..
