I'm not trolling, just seeking info. What brings this to mind is Tango's post on their new Halo 15mm Pelican Dropship. My FLGS doesn't even carry any Spartan products anymore except for two copies of Halo Fleet Battles (from his original order) and they are discounted and still sitting there. The manager says his distributor has stopped carrying Spartan because it's such a hassle getting product. I haven't seen any of their games being played in at least three years. So is it just my neck of the woods or are they just not popular any more? |

I can't speak but anecdotally but none of the stores I frequented in Portland ever stocked their stuff, and most of them stock some super obscure things. |

Can't say, myself. I do like the looks of their alien ships, but the human vessels are just plain ugly, and uninspired, in my personal opinion. |

Dystopian Wars is quite popular in our group and Planetfall and Halo seem to be getting played some. Firestorm Armada is not big around here but I know of at least one area where it is fairly common. |

My FLGS has a section for Halo, Firestorm Armada and Planetfall, the same size as their displays for X-Wing or Warmachine. Monday is advertised as Spartan Games night, but I haven't been to see how many games are played there. They carried Dystopean Wars for awhile, but it seems to have been de-emphasized. This store is not shy about getting rid of what doesn't sell, so I guess it does ok for them. |

The problme with Spartan and FLGS is, that Spartan use a magazine-type distribution system to brick and mortar stores- Only the latest items are sent out to distributors, so backorders are imposiible for stores and no returns are permitted It works for Spartan though because they have a great internet store and an attractive customer rewards system in place for anyone wanting to order older items. |

And that is why I won't carry them… |

If I was to go by the local FLGS, the only games being played would be by Games workshop. Personally, Spartan is my go to for Starship gaming. |

Dystopian Wars was massive in my area about 4 years ago but no-one touches it now. The models are fantastic. |

I've only ever seen it in the discount bins at the FLGS's and don't know anyone who's played it. |

Only three games are stocked at FLGS's in my neck of the woods outside of LA, GW's 40K, Privateer Press' Warmahordes and BF's FOW. |

Sounds like my FLGS except he also stocks board games and Magic. It seems they made major changes to Magic though and attendence is now about half. |

One of my FLGS carried it a few years back but don't have it any more. |
