Anyone know what colour sashes were worn by regimental and/or senior officers during the 1649-1659 period? I'm particularly interested in Ireland from 1649-1652/53. Had the Parliamentarian trend of wearing the C-in-C's colour died out by the Irish and Scottish campaigns, and if not does anyone know the sash colours for Jones and Cromwell? |

FWIW – Graham Turner ( in Osprey Campaign 213) portrays Col. Michael Jones wearing a red sash at Rathmines. |

I did have thought that red might have taken over as the "national" colour, but wasn't sure. Thanks for those links. Anyone else got anything to contribute? |

I have been using a combo of Orange and Yellow sashes for my Parliamentarian forces in the predceeding war period. Not found any reference for post 1649 |
