A Couple That is Possessed Together, Stays Together

DemosLaserCutDesigns Fezian says these Possessed Zombies would lend themselves well to a zombie game based on the world of the Evil Dead movies.

I'm wondering if there are such a thing as a campaign driven spaceship combat game along the line of Nucromunda, Mordhiem and Frostgrave?

Nothing off hand that I can think of, though maybe 2HWG's Star Navy series has something similar? Now that you mention it would be a pretty cool concept.

Star Navy and Fighter Command works that way – like all THW games we provide campaign rules.

Battlefleet Gothic? You can find the rules online.

Silent Death has a very nice little Mercenary campaign in the Yoko-Shan Warworld book.

Are you talking about a pilot or ship's crew having adventures on a ship (more like Nucromunda) … or a fleet of ships battling it out for the solar system (dealing with repairs and ammo shortages)?

Heck of a lot of campaign settings, both in combat rules, and standalones like Victory By Any Means, for EMPIRES.

Along the lines of the games you're suggesting, not so much. You'd do better looking at an RPG with character advancements, and adding on to that.

However, I strongly suggest you take a look at what some folk are doing with X-Wing.

Poster by the handle yarkshire gamer reports his group is doing a campaign very different from 'bring whatever you can buy' organized play. Instead, everyone starts basic, and EARNS upgrades and updates in tabletop battles. Or dies in same. ;->=

Most recent: Game 24

Big set of pages of history: Game List('OLDER POSTS' to beginning)

I REALLY wish I'd the smarts to do the same with ST: Attack Wing!

Thanks all
@Stryderg
I'm looking for spaceships.
Figure it'll be interesting following the career of bands of space pirates.

@TheBeast
The X-wing campaign looks like the right direction.

I had a suspicion THW would having something like that.
How easy/detailed/applicable is Star Navy for this?
I'm assuming the campaign system is similar in Fighter Command?

I have the Battlefleet Gothic rulebook but don't remember the campaign system.

Silent Death world book I'll check that out.

Star Navy Campaign is a bit different than FC. Might be a better fit. How many ships are you looking at running at the same time?

Hi all, above is a link to our 24th game in our campaign, game 25 is being saved up for Star Wars day.

There are links at the bottom of the page to the previous games and more importantly for the original question the Campaign rules.

Hope it's of some use.

@Ed THW
I'm looking at up to 6 ships per side initially but later one might want to go up.

I really want something that has a lot of progression and if possible for ships to eventually develop unique quirks.

I also already have Fringe Space.

emckinney16 Apr 2016 1:36 p.m. PST

I read over the BFG campaign system last night. Not so much about a small band of pirates, but otherwise seems to give what you want. Lots of unique quirks for ships available (Marks of Chaos can have some really nasty effects). Ship crews improve with experience, get worse when the ship takes severe damage.

Echoco16 Apr 2016 3:50 p.m. PST

Just finished reading the Campaign section of BFG.
Pretty much what I was looking for thanks.

Is Star Navy campaign similar to this?

TheBeast Supporting Member of TMP17 Apr 2016 5:27 a.m. PST

I see that now, Echoco.

My poor memory was of advancements for the individual ships and ships' NPC captains, not players.

I shall readjust my paradigm! ;->=

Star Fire Empires!

Sargonarhes17 Apr 2016 9:14 a.m. PST

I believe FASA's old starship combat simulator had a campaign feature to it. There were sheet you could print out for the helm, weapons and engineer of the ship, this was clearly done to combine FASA's Star Trek RPG game in with the starship game. Which ends up as a campaign.

Star Navy would work for what you're looking for and as yo already have FS just lay any Attributes over Star Navy if you like.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all
I've decided to go with 5150 Star Navy, being able to mesh with Fringe Space is the tipping point.
That and Battlefleet Gothic is too dependent on GW miniatures despite being what I was looking for.

Sargonarhes18 Apr 2016 5:53 p.m. PST

Look around on Shapeways, there are some not Battlefleet Gothic ships out there.
