I have added some nice Pics & AAR of our SYW Hastenbeck refight based on Frank Chadwick's "Battle's of the Seven Years War", vol. 2: "The Strategic Flanks". If you like, feel free to have a look at my Blog. crogges7ywarmies.blogspot.de Cheers, Christian |

Your personalized orders of battle are a beauty! What software do you use to draw them? They are a real inspiration! |

I too like your orders of battle. They are very stylish and easy to understand. Sorry to be picky but I would not use terms like Corps and Divisions for SYW OOBs. |

My orders of battle sheets I do with Adobe InDesign. Also Illustrator would work well. I wouldn't know how to do it with MS word, which I believe is what most folks work with. @Broglie, I understand your point. But I don't think the napoleonic+ area ever held an exclusive copyright on these terms. A corps was the regular term for whatever number of troops, and also the term division in sense of a subdivision of a line of troops was at times used. Broglie's 1760 regulations for his army come to my mind here. The infantry of the 1st and 2nd line was divided into 4 "Divisions" on this occasion. I also need them as V&B has Division and Corps commanders with different capabilities. That makes it easier to separate them in game terms. Cheers, Christian |

Thanks for responding so quickly crogge1757. I understand your reasoning but I think we will just have to agree to disagree. Regards |

Christian, Excellent battle report and next time the champagne should be brought out when the fat lady begins singing and not sooner or the taste will become flat. This battle is high on my list of scenarios for the SYW yet I could not design that moment when both sides thought they lost the battle and the confusion caused by misinterpreting the flow of battle. Regards, Robert |
