There are several part closures on London Underground and the DLR on Saturday 16th:

It's certainly good to be aware of these closures. Is it my imagination, or are the closures less frequent and less extensive since the 2012 Olympics?

The map is a bit confusing as it seems to imply that the DLR is closed between Westferry and Poplar, whereas TfL's "Journey Planner" outlines an uninterrupted ride from Bank (where I shall be boarding) or Tower Gateway through to Customs House.

Thanks for the 'heads up' – much appreciated.

There are also expected delays on the A13 coming in from the East. The Lodge Avenue Flyover will be closed for maintenance which means traffic traveling on the A13 towards London and the Docklands will have to divert around the flyover using the slip roads and the roundabout at this junction. At busy times the delays could be very severe (they were last time they did this) so allow extra time if this is your route to Excel.

DHautpol: It does look as if the line is interrupted between Westferry and Poplar but if you are coming from Bank then there is a way round. Bit of a faff but not too bad.

From Bank go to London Bridge on the Northern Line, change to the eastbound Jubilee Line and get off at Canning Town, changing onto the DLR there.

Obviously check with a member of staff if you can go straight through on your original route as sometimes the TfL Routeplanner can be a bit wrong!

My pilot will just put me down on the roof, as usual.

What? You didn't know there was a helipad up there? Peasants…..

No chance. Olympia just isn't big enough any more.

Which stop is it on the DLR please?

"Custom House for Excel" on the DLR line to Beckton. Just follow the crowd.

Nope. Not this year. The London Marathon "Expo" is not until the 20th.

Similar to IanF…. if coming into London via Euston…

1) Take the Northern Line to London Bridge
2) Change at London Bridge take the Jubilee Line
3) Change at Canning Town to the DLR
$) DLR to Custom House.
