In your gaming group, do you consider yourself a leader or a follower?

The Beast Rampant13 Apr 2016 3:46 p.m. PST

I am the corporal bumped up to brigadier general.

AS I am the group I'm the leader until I disagree with him

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP13 Apr 2016 3:58 p.m. PST

Leader.

I have all the figs, all the terrain, a dedicated game room, the rule books, a wargaming blog. I write the scenarios, host the game night, and clean up the next day. So I'm guessing "leader."

Winston Smith13 Apr 2016 4:05 p.m. PST

Yes

The Beast Rampant13 Apr 2016 4:15 p.m. PST

I tried to lead, no one followed.

Now 'm just a merc for hire.

dBerczerk13 Apr 2016 6:04 p.m. PST

When I can't lead, I follow.

When I can't follow, I get out of the way.

Jamesonsafari13 Apr 2016 6:05 p.m. PST

What Dentatus said, but if one of the gang wants to put on a game I'll just make the table available and send out the invites

Toronto4813 Apr 2016 6:12 p.m. PST

Follower, unless provoked.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut13 Apr 2016 9:29 p.m. PST

Bashytubits is our leader.

basileus6613 Apr 2016 10:02 p.m. PST

Neither. I am the grumpy, middle-aged man, who sits in a corner and whines about how "youns nowadays don't game properly" while casts ugly looks to those cheeky boys that seem to enjoy the unhistorical ruleset of the month a bit too much!.

Our little group is very much a democracy: I'd have to say no clear leaders or followers.

Yesthatphil14 Apr 2016 2:18 a.m. PST

Our little group is more of an anarcho-syndacalist collective, really …

Obviously I'm more of a follower than a leader.

There is an old saying about having too many chiefs and not enough Indians.
Also,
Manager vs. Leader: manager is a title that someone can be appointed to, whereas a leader is simply followed. An example, officer with the rank of General is a manager and may or may not be a leader too. A true leader may come from any rank. Saying you are a leader does not make it so. Others will determine if you are the real leader.

As for me, sometimes I'm a follower, very rarely do I lead, and most of the time get out of the way and do my own thing.

Rich Bliss14 Apr 2016 3:21 p.m. PST

Leader. Curse of the first born.

Ewan Hoosami15 Apr 2016 4:39 a.m. PST

Neither, I just do my own thing and usually nobody else quite understands what it is I'm doing.

I think I am a reluctant leader.

Neither.

Anarchist and loose cannon.

138SquadronRAF18 Apr 2016 9:06 a.m. PST

Another anarchist and loose cannon. Sometimes I poke War Artisan enough that he gets something organised.

Old Contemptibles19 Apr 2016 10:55 p.m. PST

I have to say I am one of several local leaders. I consider anyone a leader that games with their own figures and terrain at their house. Who furnishes the scenario and sets up the game.

Does all of this to a regular schedule. Who makes an effort to get players to show up. Also may be the motivator for local conventions and club meetings.

If your setting the agenda and what games are being played, then you too maybe a leader.
