Thanks to everyone that attended the inaugural DBA tournament at AdeptiCon 2016. It was, by any measure, a pretty huge success. 10 players was a solid number for our first event and I know of at least four more players planning on joining the fray next year.

Gorgon Studios provided us with some amazing 2x2 gaming mats for the event, so a huge thanks to them.

The theme for next year's tournament will be Bronze Age/Chariot Wars, so get started on those Hittites now!

A special thanks to Bill Hupp for helping me get this thing organized. And to the always-helpful AdeptiCon staff.

It was fantastic to see this at AdeptiCon this year and look forward to seeing how this develops in the future!

It is also a great example of how HMGS and AdeptiCon can co-exist and compliment one another. I had a number of discussions at the convention explaining that the 2x2 mat was designed for DBA and other small scale games, and was amazed how few knew exactly what DBA was and that it was not a new a game system. ; )

More pics from the convention. First Charlie Z putting on a intro to DBA session throughout the afternoon.

Then in the evening I ran a king Arthur game, armies seeking to seize the Roman watchtower on the hill. Charlie again, Dave, the winner of the Friday tournament and a newbie on the left.

The watchtower was an edifice. Interesting that an element is not destroyed when forced to recoil into an edifice as it is just simply bad going.
Here we have Bill Hupp, of. Thistle and Rose, in center , yours truly on the left, and another newbie on the right (David).

Looks like a great event. Thanks for sharing the photos. Always great to see ancient and medieval games going on at events like this.
