Great communication and service from Jonathan! Getting my Star Wars Armada stuff and Omni-Stands quickly! He also helped answer my questions about his products. |

What with the 2nd edition coming out, I was wondering if Sharpe Practice for Napoleonics was the closest thing to Bolt Action for ww2. |

I would say it is the closest thing to Chain of Command for WW2. Not the same mechanics, but leadership is the critical component. |

The closest thing to Napoleonics for WW2 and Bolt Action would be Black Powder. |

black powder isn't a skirmish game(ie 1 figure is 1 man, and has independant statistics/weapons), so it can't really be compared to bolt action. |

(nods to Daler240d), yes, leadership, friction and morale. The only similarity is the use of randomisers (cards/poker chips) to handle turn sequence. |

Sharpe Practice is not Warhammer Napoleonics |
Wargamer Blue | 11 Apr 2016 5:42 p.m. PST |
its not as good as Bolt Action. |

It's all a matter f preference. I personally feel that Sharpe Practice is a far superior game to Bolt Action. But that is my opinion so to each his own. |

SP is much better than BA but that's imho |

Just a suggestion, but "Is not!", "Is so!" doesn't really do much for anyone. Please provide reasons why you think so. |

Sharp Practice a much better set with a sound historical basis. Bolt Action a WW2 Sci-fi mash up. |
Rapier Miniatures | 13 Apr 2016 6:18 a.m. PST |
Also Sharp Practice covers 1700 to 1865, it is not just a Napoleonic set either. |

Rich was pretty clear about what SP was designed to be. It's just a matter of whether you believe he succeeded or not. |

Bolt Action is basically a fantasy game, it pays no real attention to the way that the armies were organised, tactically deployed or operated. |
