Burke Davis Nine April Days covers the collapse of the Petersburg defense lines, the loss of Richmond, and the final retreat of the Army of Northern Virginia to surrender at Appomatox Court House.

Burke Davis The Long Surrender focuses on the attempted escape of Jefferson Davis and other high confederate officials as their Confederacy collapsed around their ears.

Once again, I will recommend reading Battles and Leaders of the Civil War on the end of the war in 1865, as on other topics. You can not do better than to start your reading with the accounts, justifications, prejudices and old quarrels of the veterans themselves.
