As I look around for more info on The Maximilian Adventure,
i find that it does not seem to be the most popular of the Mexican wars.
My guess from Google images seems to be
Texas War
Mexico-American War
Maximilian Adventure, especially Camerone
Pershing Expedition
Mexican Civil War
Mexican War of liberation
forgive me for any I missed.
So what is your favorite Mexican War?

Tough one for me since I have armies for all of them – I would say Mexican Civil War followed by the Mazimillian Adventure

I'm OK with the top two on your list. I have only played any of the others at cons.

Could also go back to the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs if one wanted to include the territory before Mexico gained their independence

Always thought the movie "The Black Scorpion " -- a 1957 science fiction movie about giant scorpions attacking Mexico City; had some possibilities as a wargame scenario.

What about the Mexican Revolution?

What's the Mexican Civil War?

I prefer the Maximilian Adventure, but mostly for the "what ifs" (about which I began developing a whole campaign game). The actual conflict was mostly ugly, asymmetrical, and political.

Tactically, the Mexican-American War is probably the best for wargaming, followed by the Maximilian Adventure, but all of the conflicts (and probably a few not listed) should be good for skirmish gaming, and of course the Alamo is a traditional classic wargame.
