You've just answered your own question on the Greatest Warship of all Time!

I was a fan of Leviathans when it came out eventhough a year late I might add.

I bought the main game and played 2-3 games I really liked the ships but I was never able to get the 2 Fleet boxes and the NEW Armored Cruiser that they said would be released never was.

I believe the game to be a dead one and I've moved on and have focused my efforts with AERONEF.

So Leviathans was nice while it lasted but the game was not supported but I'll still hang on to the stater box.

Nice game, better feel than distopian wars

Captain: Any interest in Imperial Skies? A friend went in on the Kickstarter.

Using the figs created for Aeronef by Brigade Models, which were added to by the KS stretch goals, with a movement that feels more like X-Wing.

I'm cautiously optimistic, though I pitched in to try and bring in more ships, which, if I have to, I can 'bring myself' to play in Aeronef. ;->=

Aksakal: Agreed, but I found the firing/damage a bit fiddly, and still have issues with it being hex-based.

I have a starter box and two fleet boxes I'd be willing to part with…

Doug to answer your question yes I'm interested in Imperial Skies and did pledge in the Kickstarter I'm getting the Rulebook,2 add on's,Russian Starter Fleet and the 4 New ships.

I'm looking forward to Imperial Skies and adding ships to my impressive collection of over 1,000 ships is pretty good too.

I like Aeronef and have run games at local conventions and from what little I know about Imperial Skies it does have things that Aeronef didn't have so I'm looking forward to Imperial Skies.

@ Extra Crispy just curious what would you want for your Starter Box and 2 Fleet boxes?

At MSRP they go for $200 USD for the three, plus shipping. Shipping will be substantial as these are big and heavy (as I'm sure you know). I could save some there by taking the kits out of the box if you don't want the game boxes.

How about $150 USD for all three + shipping (but I would like to keep the rules – not all the chits and markers just the rule book).

P.S> Starter set was opened, never played. Game boards and so on still in the shrink, counters unpunched.

The two fleet boxes are still in the shrink.

I'd keep the "Commanders Manual" and the Gazetteer for New Airmen….

Extra Crispy thanks for the info but I have to pass since I don't have a lot of funds for gaming things and the funds I have are already slated for certain things.

For me there are two things which I didn't like about Leviathans.

First one deals with the Fleet boxes now it would've been good if they had NEW ships in the Fleet boxes instead of the same ships that you got in the Starter box.

The other thing deals with the NEW Armored Cruiser which was supposed to be released soon after the Fleet Boxes but they never did so these 2 things somewhat turned me off from Leviathans.

if they had NEW ships in the Fleet boxes

I share that, though, while the figs are the same, the names/descriptions are changed, so some of the stats.

I know it's not the same, but felt a bit 'X-Wing.'

"Nobody actually could use the ship, but the CARDS!"

Doug

Edit: Wow, just realized I used two X-Wing comparisons TOTALLY differently. I've got to get out more.

What turned me off was the limited variety in ships, only 2 countries and a small number of ships for each country. Either give me a larger list of possible ships, or allow me the option to fill in the gaps myself with design rules.

Captain Gideon12 Apr 2016 11:06 a.m. PST

Syr Otto if Leviathans had been more like Aeronef things would've been much different.

With Aeronef you have over 12 Nation's with well balanced Fleets and this is a big reason why I really like Aeronef.

Also if Catalyst Games have made the ships slightly smaller they could've added better Fleets and more ships per country in the starter box.

But then when Catalyst games released the game a year late that didn't help things.

I heard about this a while back, but I also saw only little variety. I thought it was a work in progress. Too bad they never expanded it.
