… to park across two spaces if you pay for two spaces? |

Only if you put a big sign on your car saying "paid for two spaces" |

I had a new car in my misspent younger days that was so beautiful I used two parking spaces the company was paying for that no one was using. There was no end of uproar over that from near and far in spite of the fact the spaces were paid for monthly but unused. The lot owner said it set a bad precedent and my co-workers said "Who do you think you are?" I am as bullheaded as they come and held out to the bitter end but you should expect blowback even if you are paying for two spaces. |

It may be morally acceptable to park across two spaces if you paid for them but then again you are morally obligated to park your clunker as close as humanly possible to any muppet who thinks their vehicle deserves two spaces. Anybody who thinks they are above common curtesy because they're "special" deserves to be messed with. Of course that is only my opinion. 😜 |

My work truck in my military instructor days took up 2 spaces. Using just one would overhang by 3 or 4 feet into the aisle. We used a Chevy Silverado 2500 with an extended bed and crew cab because it was cheaper than a Humvee and held all of our range stuff, plus the supply sergeant could run by Home Depot etc. and still be within regs. The government plates bought us a bit of leeway from the MPs. |

"Is it morally acceptable … to park across two spaces if you pay for two spaces?" It might be problematic for all concerned if said spaces are not actually adjacent to each other… ;-) |

One of my tenants keeps an old beater motorcycle parked in the space next to his and then slightly overlaps the line by a foot or two. |

Depending what country you live in, parking outside the designated marked bays will get you a parking fine. Whether you've paid for it or not. |

It is NOT acceptable! Learn to bleedin' well drive…. |

I say you can do it even if you haven't paid for it. If it makes the easily upset have their heads explode, it's worth it. |

It's perfectly acceptable as long as you're fine with your car being keyed, spat upon, dented, or otherwise shown how much others "appreciate" your decisions. 8)= |

Up here in the hills, we have trucks that take up four spaces (2 spaces x 2 spaces) 'cause they have A) No clue about how irritating they are or B) have no clue the dimensions of their pickup. Of course, tourist busses take up something like 8 spaces as they pull in the wrong way to the parking lot. |

Sometimes I wish I had a can of black primer in my car, to carefully block out the windows of parking miscreants. |

If he has paid for two spaces, I do not see why it is a problem with anyone else. |

About 30 minutes before you posted this SWMBO was disenchanted with two tour busses doing exactly that. |

I had someone literally run their sports car into a space I was pulling into and missed me by less than an inch jump out of their car flip the middle finger my way and run into the store. I found another spot went to their car and removed the valve cores from all four of their tires then drove to another store. Tires whose valve cores have been loosened or removed do not stay inflated. |
