There are more cards in the new bundle decks than there are chips, yet these are supposed to be interchangeable – anyone able to confirm what's on the extra cards? |

We commissioned the chips and card deck to both be identical. However, the card manufacturer came back to us and said that, due to the size of the card sheets used, we may as well have 40 cards in the deck as the price would be the same. We increased the number of Leaders to 12 rather than 10 and the number of command cards to 7 rather than 6. To be honest you'll probably never use those additional cards as it would be a huge game, but they were free so we thought we may as well add them. One thing to be aware of is the fact that the cards are high quality poker standard cards in a tuck box. The Poker Chips are MDF and do need a quick paint job to look their best. So if you want to play straight "out of the box" the card option will probably be for you. Hope that helps Rich |

That's brilliant, thanks. So the extra cards just help if you're playing a slightly bigger game then? Just for clarity (and my own interest) :-) does the 10 leader limit of chips impact force selection or anything else vs the cards? |

The extra cards help if you are playing absolutely HUGE games, well beyond what could be called normal. An average game will have four to six Leaders per side. A large game seven or eight, a very large game nine or ten. Anything more than that is off the scale really. I've never played a game with more than ten leaders and, to be honest, I don't think I'm likely to. You'd want a huge table for a start and probably a minimum of 150 figures a side. If you're doing that you're leaving the realms of "large skirmish" behind. Rich |

I ordered mine Saturday. I went with chips. I liked what I saw on the blog with the test game post, and the chips have appeal to me (plus I hate shuffling). Just looking forward to getting my set once the are produced. |

If you already have a card deck for SPv1 it will still work for v2 |

Interestingly I bought the biggest bundle. Love the cards hate the poker chips BUT the leader cards apply to specific leaders so you have to number your leaders. I am using the numbered chips to sit by the leader so I can remember which leader is which |

Wish I had bought the chips as I had a realization that they would be much easier to "shuffle" than the cards. I hope they will be for sale separately at some point… |

The chips are in many ways better than the cards, as aside from being more random, you can put the chip next to activated units as an aide memoire, so it is easy to see who has been activated. Of course, it is easy enough to make your own chips from poker chips or tiddlywinks. |

axabra, I don't think TFL will sell the chips separate, but they are made by Warbses ( link ) and if the chips do not show up on the website, drop them a line and ask. They sell the patrol markers for Chain of Command so pretty sure the SP chips will show up too. |

Thanks for the info Thomas! |

I emailed TFL to ask about selling the chips and game tokens separately. They said that they will be doing so but at the moment they are focussing on filling the bundle orders which, apparently, have exceeded their expectations. Richard said he hoped to have them available letter in May. Not sure how late that will be. |
