We played a fun Vietnam War game on Saturday, using the WWII rules "Battleground WWII," with a few modifications. The game was fun and I was reminded of how much fun I had with BGWWII back when it came out in the late 90s. Some pics of the game below. Lots more pictures and a full AAR on my blog, as well as some ruminations on those classic gaming rules. Thanks for looking! [note: crossposted to WWII rules because hey, don't we need extra uses for all our many WWII rules?] link

Beautiful table man, and a helluva fight. Are you sure the hero bought it? Maybe just a flesh wound? ;) V/R, Jack |

I was on Pre-order for the Battleground rules for Vietnam when the company fell apart, it sucked because I really love those rules. |

Thanks all! @evbates, please email me that document. thedogsbrush(at)gmail(dot)com. JustJack---sadly no, he was down for the count. The result was an "HW" (Heavy Wound). Hopefully it was of the million dollar variety and he can ship back home and recover. @IrishMarine---Probably the only gaming company melt down that has affected my gaming directly. :( They were cool guys too, very personable and ran great convention games. I didn't care for the minis (28 was never my scale) but they did great books. |

Still reading the AAR(and cking out the great pics) wanted to say this looks like it was a really fun game. These were 28mm right? What company did you get your troops from? I would love to do some 15mm light AFV, Vietnam action, (Im dying to do something with Gun Trucks!) |

By chance – does anyone else have a print copy of the Battleground Vietnam rules? Seems that everything available is missing page 4 and would love to get a copy of that page… Thanks again Ed for the rules as well!!! 8^) |

EVBates, We just started on Vietnam games…in fact we've got lots of kit and we're getrtijg more, but have n't actually had a game yet. Any chance you could mail me the rules too? We'll mostly play rather larger games, but it'd be nice to have something for that 'one or two squads' level of things. thathistorybloke@outlook.com |

The game looks great! The VC miniatures are from this 1:72 kit by ESCI (later reissued by Italeri), right? |

andresf The VC miniatures are from this 1:72 kit by ESCI (later reissued by Italeri), right? 1/72 well I'll be. I was certain they were 1/56 – 28mm. 1/72 oh the Airfix flashback memories. I had so many troops and AFVs, some good days. Now that Im thinking of it, I even had some of the 'Nam period as well. |

Love it looks fantastic! Would have hated to have been in 'the Nam' (but secretly would have LOVED to have been in the Nam)…..who wouldn't? |
