What colour were Brunswick artillery limbers and carriages during the 100 days?

I have seen them both grey/blue like British Artillery and also Ochre like Austrian Artillery

What is the general consensus?

Thanks

J

Dear J
The Brunswick Artillery were purchased after Leipzig and were from the Westphalian Horse Artillery of M1811 Westphalian Ordnance. It is unlikely that they were repainted. They were not British ordnance.

Forgive a daft question…so what colour were they then?

I always imagined that grey/blue of British/KGL/Hanoverian artillery….

Please clarify for us thickos!

Green by the look of it, same as the French with black fittings.

So Humbrol Artillery Green enamel…

Or Russian Uniform Green from Vallejo……

Fine by me. Still seems odd, that not one coat of paint in the years since Leipzig. Remember the paint served a purpose……..

Hello.

Osprey's Artillery equipment of the Napoleonic wars suggests light blue with black fittings.

Happy modelling.

There is no definitive answer. Choose the one most pleasing to you!

When I first built my Brunswickers long ago, following the Osprey info, I used British limbers painted blue to match the guns. Since then, I have acquired French style limbers to replace those, but have not painted them yet. I will likely go with blue for festivity. Festivity is why I paint Nappies and not ACW!

miniMo: then you need to paint the Union Zouave Corp.

Dear All
British ordnance should be mid-grey and not blue grey. The mistake is simply people not having the correct white balance on their cameras. French Artillery Green is a mixture of ochre and lamp black (50:1 to 100:1) so at best comes out olive rather than green.
