I stumbled upon an old school miniature maker who had figures that resembled pre 90s GW stuff. I thought I bookmarked it on my phone but did not. If I recall correctly they had dwarfs, orcs etc. and even hobgoblins. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Battleforge maybe?

Black Tree are also very "old GW" in style, but I can't recall hobgoblins from them.

Alternative Armies has all of those, from back in the day and now re-released.

The Assault Group is taking over the production of another boutique guy's models (the White Knight?) of classic imperial-looking dwarfs and halflings. These are in the old Warhammer style, and a HUGEbrange of figures.

I hope the Assault Group gets around to that guy's Sea Elves. They are spectacular.

Does anyone own Battleforge hobgoblins? If so how are they?
