My employer is sending me off to Wright-Patterson AFB, near Dayton, Ohio, for a class. I plan to visit the Air Force museum there, which I haven't seen in 17 years. Are there any stores selling gaming goodies in the Dayton/WPAFB area any more?

There is a shop in Beavercreek. I think it is called The Hobby Shop ?! They have slot car races and gaming tables in the back. Good luck. If you get a chance to do the restoration hangar tour on Friday morning DO IT !

The Hobby Shop is in Miamisburg. Right around the corner from Wright-Pat is the Game Haven. Epic Loot is further south in Centerville.

There is also Bookery Fantasy in Fairborn, which is close to the base.

Are you looking for something in particular?

When will you be in town?

A few moments of silence for The Tin Soldier.

Amen. May it's memory rest in peace.

Amen to that.

There is also Smitty's hobby shop on Wilmington Pike in Kettering, but it is really a train and model store, with a decent paint and Woodland Scenics selection.

A short drive from there is Bell, Book and Comic on Patterson Road in Dayton. It has comics, clix, card games, a good selection of dice, and some board games.

I played my very first miniature game in the Tin Soldier. Sword and The Flame, Ral Partha Brits and Zulus. Was immediatley hooked. 33 years ago…….

Dayton has some good hobby shops. But if you're interested at all in military aviation, it will take you three days just to do the AF Museum justice. Don't rush.

I game regularly at The Game Haven. It's a nice little shop just a stone's throw from the AF Museum. In fact, you can see the museum from the store's front windows.

I'll have to see about dropping by Game Haven sometime. I noticed it is accessable by bus,I believe it's the Rt. 1 along Airway just before the Wright State University campus, going NNE. Heard they have some FoW/Team Yankee stuff there available.
