Noticed yesterday that GW have changed all the names of the classic factions. They are broken down into smaller categories, all with brand new names. Of course it doesn't mean that you can't still call them by their old factions, I mean my Empire is still Empire and my Bretonnians are still Bretonnians. |

They need to use names they can trademark. I believe they mentioned the emphasis on this in one of their recent annual reports. |

Yeah, I think this is all fallout from the Chapterhouse litigations |

I'm not terribly knowledgeable about GW, but it looks like "Nurgle" become the "Rotbringers". Surely "Nurgle" is not in the public domain? Or is it because "Rotbringers" is self-explanatory for brand new players? |

Nurgle is likely close enough to Nergal, and I think the old Assyrian copyrights have gone into the public domain on the ancient Mesopotamian deities. |

I think the old Assyrian copyrights have gone into the public domain I would not want to risk crossing the law firm of Shalmaneser, Tiglath-Pileser, Sennacherib and Ashurbanipal though. Might cost you an arm and a leg. And possibly all your skin. |
