So I know the infantry is all wrong for TYW, but the cavalry looks ok?

I'm thinking spesificaly about armord cav with pistols.

The triple-bar helmets are distinctively English.

Not all of them come with the trible bar, and those that do, can be removed. Would that work?

Beautiful figures but yes, a variety of helmet styles would be nice. These only good for a few of the better equipped ECW units.

I thought it looked like all the armoured cavalry had triple-bars? Anyway, I don't think you could get away with just cutting off the bars. A single-bar Continental style helmet has the nasal going through the peak not attached to the edge, the peak doesn't pivot, and the skull isn't usually the plain rounded style of these helmets. The detail on these figures is just too good and too accurate to make the conversion easy!

Now the unarmoured cavalry in hats may be a different matter.

Actually none of the helmets come with bars they have to be glued on

Which Nation in the TYW?

What year in the TYW?

What's regiment in the TYW?

What battle in the TYW?

"We" need to start calling this the "Thirty Years Wars", plural, or at least address them individually by the five divisional time periods.

What you are missing, are the coats. The length varied quite a bit, and by nation, regiment in nation, etc.

I have learned the best way to build any army for these wars, is to have a single battle in mind. This will limit the ambiguities.

Despite what some of us want to believe, there are no generic TYW figures, b/c there is no generic TYW.

What I am getting at Gunfreak is that you are looking for an excuse to use these figures, b/c they really are very nice and highly detailed.

The closest I can think they will come to, is the later French during the Spanish/French phase of the war(s). The ones with hats.

I also would not say the infantry is "all wrong.". Some will fit for some nations, for some time period of the wars.

William.
