"In the early morning of April 9th 1940 the Danish army is alerted. The Germans have crossed the border; Denmark is at war against Europe's strongest army. In Southern Jutland Danish bicycle- and motorcycle companies are ordered out, to against all odds, hold back the forces until the Danish reinforcements can be mobilized. In the fatal hours, we follow second lieutenant Sand (Pilou Asbęk) and his bicycle company – they will as the first Danish soldiers meet the enemy in combat on April 9th 1940"

Never heard of it, but the trailer looks good.

It does look interesting, maybe the BBC or More4 will pick it up to show in the UK?

Looks terrific. But don't read the comments on the clip!

I've watched this and it's quite good. Low budget and no big battle scenes but the film works. A small group of Danish soldiers on bicycles are given the job of stopping the German thrust into Denmark. The film has a good period feel and the acting is ok.

More a Sunday afternoon film and it reminded me a little of the first part of Dunkirk where the small squad of brits were trying to reach the beachhead.

No big battle scenes? They about correct size in 1:1 scale as it was platoon sized engagements only.

The Sevastopol trailer right after it looked good as well.

I suspect I have a good idea how this one turns out, but then again, perhaps they'll throw a plot twist in the end.

Always good to see some front-line combat movies.

This is an excellent movie which I highly recommend. They have faithfully recreated every single combat of the six-hour "war" and have represented just about every single Danish combatant who took part.

Huzzah! Available from Amazon on DVD w/ "Ingleezee" sub-titles!! I'm told that next to Mandarin, Danish is the hardest language in the word… You need a PAL-compatible player, but at least you can get it finally!! I can't wait… my back-up player is region-less (also from Amazon)… Huzzah!!!!

Tango0109 Apr 2016 10:15 a.m. PST

Best of luck with it my friend!. (smile)

You can play out the entire defence of my home land with one pack of Old glory figures :-)

edit: For people pondering importing this, you should be able to play PAL dvd's on your computer, if that's an option.
Otherwise, I know a lot of Sony DVD players tend to not be region locked.

The "only" problem trying to recreate the "Four Hour War" is that no one makes figures for the Danish Army. That helmet is distinctive and unique! Sigh…

In smaller scales you could probably get away with Poles.
