Hi all, looking for some ideas. We want to do a cold war campaign game 70's – 80's period. We want to have some maps where we can do the 'grand scheme manouvers' before moving on to the actual wargame. So, any ideas? We've discussed OS type maps of Germany or even Google earth and print them off but would need one heck of a printer! So any practical thoughts would be welcome. Mike |

You could read this and see if it helps: TMP link or Float over to the cartographers guild here's a link: link Make a profile and ask on their forums for either 1. someone who can do what you want for inexpensive cost or 2. see if someone can give you advice on how to do it with the tools you have at your home/office for oyurself. They are a great community that I am sure will help you out. |

You could use maps from board games, a European Road Atlas or from a web site like highwaymaps.eu It should not be to hard to put in where the IGB was on a modern map. This is a 1980 map, most are of France but there is one that shows almost all of western Europe on the site, just scroll down to it. link |

What scale are you looking for? I have a few 1:50,000 sheets of Germany laying around and know one of those sheets is between the IGB and Fulda, my battalion's old battle positions. pjm |

Peter Dietrich has just made a Vassal module of the old SPI Central Front Series with all 5 Central Front maps scanned in and linked. Available as a free download from the DG website (current SPI copyright owners) at: link |

Mike: Send me a note at mckrok2000@yahoo.com. I have duplicates and won't sell them (for a number of reasons), but I'm sure we can work something out. Except for one sheet (5322, Lauterbach) NW of Fulda; I have a 3x4 block Fulda and North. Specifically, sheets: 5120, 5122, 5124, 5126, 5320, 5324, 5326, 5520, 5522, 5524 (Fulda), and 5526. I also noticed I had 1:250,000 JOGs sheets Frankfurt and Erfurt which encompasses the area above. pjm |

Nick Bell has also scanned in some 1:50,000 1980s maps of the same sheets (I think). Posted on the Flashpoint Red Storm game website (in post link ). Link to scanned maps: link and link |

The maps Nick Bell scanned are to the South in what I recall being VII (US) Corps sector. The Flashpoint Red Storm Campaign map collection did have two map sheets from Northern Germany which would be more representative of the BOAR sector. This is bringing back memories. pjm |
