Try this site. mapire.eu/en Not battle maps per se but interesting and useful as general information. |

Bill Haggerty wrote up a few battle scenarios with wargame style maps and detailed OOBs down to the battalion (plus suggested ratings for generals etc) for 3 battles of the war: Pakozd Isaszag – This is a large battle which I am using to paint up my forces currently, gives me something to aim for army wise. Pered – A Russian division shows up at this one. I got the articles of the now long gone MWAN magazine printed by Hal Thinglum. It was Issue #123 May/June 2003 |

You also need to look at the various threads on TMP that are dedicated to the war. I listed several books on Bem's campaign in Transylvania that have orbats and maps. Finally, you need to see if you can get the book by Hermann Robert, "Az 1848-1849-es szabadsagharc nagy csatai" (Budapest: Zrinyi Kiado, 2004 – ISBN: 963-327-367-6). It contains maps, orbats and illustrations of all the battles of the war, including the battles involving the Serbians and Croats. It should be available at bookline.hu . |

The museum of the army in Budapest has wonderful collections about the Hungarian uprising of 1848-9. They might be able to help you. I enjoyed learning about something not common. |
