Anyone see this, I just came across this series and it looks pretty good. Film footage I have seen before but in color. Not watched a lot but what I have seen looks good.

Thanks

Footage was very good and is what initially caught my attention but I couldn't get over the narration, sounded very reality tv-ish to me. Lots of dramtic pauses and saying the same thing over and over…

I'm most of the way through it. Some interesting footage at times, but you can turn off the sound and not miss much.

Did they make a WWI version as well?

Yeah, watch for the footage which is neat but the narration is very pop-history.

Half way through the first episode and already caught two things that are not true.

1) The shows says Polish cavalry charged German tanks in 1939. Never happened, a long told myth.

2) Joseph Kennedy, JFK dad, show says he was an isolationist. Not really, he thought Adolph was a great guy and the US should work with him.

As a side note they say his son, John F. Kennedy supported European democracies. Nice way to gloss over the father's views and not take into account that JFK wasn't the focus of the Kennedy clan, Joe Jr. was, until he got killed in the war.

Good footage, like the shots of France '40, but history is a bit loose.

Another thing the film quickly covers is that the French/British were going to help Finland in the war against the Soviets. Yes, that is what the governments of England and France said, but the true objective of the whole operation was to occupy the Norwegian harbor of Narvik and the vast mountainous areas of the north-Swedish iron ore fields, from which it was assumed that the Third Reich received a large share of its iron ore.
