I recently bought a die cast model of a half-track. It came in one of those display cases and by the time I had got it off the base it was short one of the tracks not sure if it pinged off or it was never there- Any ideas about how to replace it?

watch your cat for the next few days. if it pinged off, the cat will surely find it.

If the cat fails I'd try replacing the missing track (and possibly the remaining track with thick rubber band (cut to fit if necessary). Apply a decorators filler or similar to both tracks and the wheels, paint the lot a mud colour, then dry brush the whole of the lower part of the model with a dried earth colour.

Make it a knocked out half track?

What sort of half track, may I ask?

It is an SDKFZ 250 (alte) John T…It is Rommel's Greif H/T so was intended for a command base.
John A – thanks for that I might give it a whirr.

You could look for resin parts – I think Modell Trans do one-piece track unit replacements for the ACE SdKfz 10. Wasn't this an unarmoured 250?
