So I'm still looking for some new rules for the Maximilian Adventure. A friend suggested Sharpe Practice. Do the rules cover up to 1860s? |

Yes, up to the 1860s in the base 2nd edition rules with later colonial periods in follow ups. |

The new edition of the Sharp Practice rules – due out on 23 April – are intended to cover "large skirmishes in the era of black powder, 1700 to 1865" and according to the author will be augmented with "supplements to expand the periods covered as we go forward, covering areas such as Garibaldi, the Seven Years War and the Wars in Mexico." So they should be right up your alley. link |

Oh, sorry just saw the news feed. So did the earlier edition cover the same period. Asking because my friend has the older ed. |

We've used Sharp Practice for skirmishes up through colonials and into WWII. They need a few mods but they still work. |

I seem to recall that the author wrote a series of articles on Maximilian in Mexico some years ago. Might be worth asking him. |

It's all a question of rating the different troops. You get that figured out and you're off to the races. And it's Sharp Practice. |

Considering that the Maximilian Adventure is one of the authors favorite periods I'm sure that the period will be covered. |
