Apologies in advance if I'm going over old ground here! I'm struggling to find a 15mm range for the AZW that I really like, so I'm considering 10mm for this project. As far as I'm aware, there are 4 ranges readily available in the UK: Pendraken, Steve Barber, Old Glory and Magister Militum – any others I've missed? And how compatible are the different ranges either mixed in the same unit or in separate units within the same army? Any other comments on these figures much appreciated as this is a wholly new scale for me – all my colonial stuff is either 15mm or 28mm. My original plan was to represent a British company using 4 4-figure stands, each 40x20mm, but the smaller scale figures mean I could probably increase that to 6 figures, for 24 figures per company, or roughly 1:3 scale. So I'll 'only' need around 6000 Zulu figures for Isandlwana. :-) |

EC, sure, but where's the fun in recycling? Maybe I should have said 'want' instead of 'need'! Thanks, gents, for the advice, very useful indeed. |

I too am curious how well the other mentioned ranges fit with Pendraken. Any comparison pics floating around? |

Pendraken mixes well with Steve Barber and Old Glory. OG's sculpting style is a bit rougher than the other two, but they also have poses that the others don't (esp. skirmishing Zulus and various leader types). The MM figures are the old Perrin line, and while they have a lot of variety they are also much slighter figures. My collection (of several thousand!) is about 3/4 Pendraken with a few Steve Barber and OG mixed in (both lines came out after I had completed most of my collection), and about 1/4 Perrin, based in their own units. Once on the table, the size difference doesn't really matter (perhaps more so for the Zulus than the Brit's). Cheers, Christopher |
